Bo'ness Community Council has 15 members, who represent the people of Bo'ness to Falkirk Council and other public bodies. Elections take place every 4 years and 10 members are elected in this way. When the new Community Council meet they then advertise for nominations from local constituted groups and a further 5 members are selected in this way.
Madelene was elected Convenor at the 2007 and 2008 AGM and reelected after the elections in 2009. She also represents the group on the Area Forum and Avondale Liaison Group. She is interested in the environment and is involved with the Neighbourhood Watch and Community Safety Group.
Lennox is a former chair of the Community Council. He is chair of the Bo'ness Area Forum and Falkirk Council Licensing Board. He is also involved with Bo'ness Childrens Fair.
Lyn is the chairperson of Baby Bunnies Toddler Group, in addition to being a parent helper at a local primary school. Her interests are education and facilities for children and youth. A founding member of the Bo'ness Residents Harbour Group Lyn also has a keen interest in ensuring that a harbour development achieves the best outcome for all who live in Bo'ness.
David is an active member of Bo'ness Old Kirk and Falkirk Caledonia Choir. He is a founder member of Bo'ness Scottish Sub-Aqua Club and have been associated with other organisations including the Vine Trust. A Graduate of Heriot Watt University, David has experience in electrical and electronic contracting in the petrochemical, railway and public service sectors. He currently works for Falkirk Council's Corporate & Commercial Services department.
Alex was a land based Marine Engineer who came to Bo'ness in1999. He has been involved with SRPS since 1980. He is a founder member and previous Chair of Bonnie Bo'ness. He is also active in various groups including Friends of Kinneil and the Victorian Street Fair.
Stuart is a past chairman of Bo'ness Round Table, an honorary member of the Bo'ness 41 Club and a director of CVS Falkirk and District. He also serves on the Bo'ness Safety Group Committee, Bo'ness Area Forum and Falkirk Access Forum.
Stuart is the press officer for the Community Council.
Lilias is a Youth Worker with the Avenue Youth programme of St .Andrew's Church Social Outreach Branch. Avenue offers young people a variety of projects:- VNU youth cafe for S1 and above; Valley FM - Bo'ness Community Radio station; India Youth exchange - working with young people who have compassion for the poor in India. Lilias also encourages young people in Bo'ness to take pride in the community in which they live. She forges partnerships with various groups and agencies within Bo'ness and beyond to encourage young people to play an active part in society and have their voices heard.
Joan Boyd is the treasurer of Bo'ness Means Business, an organisation helping its members to become more competitive and successful. She runs her own Coaching and Business Development Consultancy based in Bo'ness. Having over 30 years of business experience she is interested in raising the profile of Bo'ness and its business community. In partnership with other community groups she is looking for opportunities to contribute to a thriving community, with business and social aspects in mind. Also developing opportunities to complete small projects to the benefit of the business and community in Bo'ness.
Maria is the membership secretary for The Friends of Kinneil and plays a major part in organising and facilitating members and public events for The Friends. The purpose of the group is to increase awareness of Kinneil House and Museum, raising the profile of the park and developing a strategy for the Estate by forming partnerships to promote and improve Kinneil.
Maria is an Early Years Officer to Childcare Modern Apprentices within Falkirk Council and is also an active member of St. Mary's Church.
Owen is studying for an Honours degree in Computer Arts at Abertay University. He has various roles in youth clubs and other organisations in the town including the Dramatics Theatre Group and the Avenue Youth Project..
Through Avenue and the Community Council Owen hopes to be part of the planning and organising of new engaging activities and events that will benefit the whole community of Bo'ness.
Rob represents Bonnie Bo'ness on the Community Council. He has his own business - WebMedia - an internet marketing, optimisation and web design company.
His personal interests are rugby, real ale and golf, though not necessary in that order. At community level he is interested in raising the image and profile of Bo'ness and attracting more visitors to the town through promoting the area as a tourist destination as part of a wider heritage project.
He is an active member and past chairman of Bo'ness Means Business, Chairman of BRAAS, both of which contribute to putting Bo'ness on the map.
