Dont drop your guard

The following information was recently circulated by Police Scotland

Most thefts of property are carried out by opportunists that will take the chance to enter a property left insecure or simply take high-value items from gardens or outbuildings. We have received reports of two such incidents last week.

PC Brian Mackie who is our acquisitive crime prevention officer - offences where items or money are stolen - said: “Most people will be keen to take advantage of the longer days and improving the weather. I would urge people not to be complacent and make sure your property remains secure as you do so.

“There are simple steps that you can take as we move into springtime.”

More information on how to keep your home secure can be found on the Police Scotland website - https://www.scotland.police.uk/keep-safe/home-and-personal-property/
